See You Through It billboard

An unofficial paste-up by the street artist See You Through It (Mando Marie) over a disused billboard: twelve stencilled portraits of the same small girl in two rows, signed SEEYOUTHROUGHIT. The same artist is painting the council's new town-centre murals this year.

A large roadside billboard pasted over with twelve identical black-and-white stencil portraits of a girl with a bob haircut, in two rows of six, weathered and peeling, signed SEEYOUTHROUGHIT, set in a black timber fence with green-painted boards below
Artwork by See You Through It (Mando Marie), photographed September 2026. It is a paste-up on a billboard, so it may be covered or peel away.

The work is a paste-up rather than a commission: the artist has taken over an empty advertising hoarding with twelve repeats of one stencilled portrait, already weathering and peeling, which is part of the look. It carries the artist’s tag, SEEYOUTHROUGHIT, in the bottom corner.

See You Through It, the street artist Mando Marie, is working with Gateshead Council in 2026 on Off the Walls, a series of murals across the town centre funded by the government’s Pride in Place Impact Fund. The first, of two twinned figures setting off on an adventure, is on the former Wilko site; more are planned for gable ends and shop shutters. This billboard is the only piece of theirs inside our district so far.

Paste-ups on billboards do not last. If it has gone, tell us and we will mark it as such.
