An arched brick railway-arch shopfront signed Bertie's Shirts, The Football Shirt Social Club. The left window shows a black-and-white striped Keegan 7 shirt with the words Trust me, one day you will get your club back; the right window has a painted cartoon mural. An A-board outside lists footy shirts, beer, coffee and gaming
Arch 10, September 2026, with the Kevin Keegan memorial mural by Art Vibes – Newcastle in the window.

Bertie’s describes itself as “authentic classic football shirts and social club based in Gateshead”. The stock is vintage and classic shirts from Premier League, European and national sides, with memorabilia alongside; the social side is a free pool table, a gaming station running a PS5 or old Nintendo and Sega consoles, and stotties, snacks, coffee, beers, wines and spirits. Contact is through the form on the website, or on Facebook, TikTok and X. Opening hours are not published on the site; if you know them, tell us.

In September 2026 the windows carry a memorial to Kevin Keegan, who died in July: a Keegan 7 shirt with the line “Trust me, one day you will get your club back”, and a cartoon mural painted by Art Vibes – Newcastle, an original piece that went up not long after his death. The Keegan stencil on the Tyne Bridge hoarding is a few minutes’ walk away. Window displays change; if it has gone, tell us.
