Wellington House from Half Moon Lane, the curved corner into Wellington Street. October 2026.

Three storeys of red brick with sandstone quoins, cornice and window surrounds and tall sash windows, turning the corner of Half Moon Lane and Wellington Street in a single curve. The ground floor is stone, with dark blue shopfronts all along it: the whole of it is Bridgewater Interiors’ showroom, at 1–7 Wellington Street. Upstairs are six flats, numbered 1–6, reached by the arched panelled door on Wellington Street, which sits between Bridgewater’s shopfronts: two on the corner side, one beyond.

It is one of the five listed buildings inside the district (see Listed buildings). The official list names it by its Half Moon Lane address, “36 and 38, Half Moon Lane”, and gives it Grade II; its list entry has Historic England’s description. It is a separate building from Worsdell House, the former Railway Club, further along Wellington Street.
