Mirk Lane is private land. The sign at the entrance says permit holders only, parking in marked bays only and none on the double yellow lines, with patrols and automatic number plate recognition. Enforcement runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is managed by Workflow Dynamics Limited, a member of the British Parking Association. A parking charge notice is £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

The permits are held by residents and local businesses; there is nowhere here for visitors to park. For public parking see the getting in and out page and the car parks on Hudson Street and Church Street.

The walk-through from Wellington Street to Curzon Place comes out here: through the archway in the viaduct, across the car park and down the steps either side of the smaller Curzon Place building.
