Brendan Foster’s Great Run Company, incorporated in 1997, has its registered office and headquarters in Tyne Bridge House, the office block at the foot of Bottle Bank where it meets Curzon Place. From the windows the view is of the Tyne Bridge itself, which the Great North Run has crossed every September since 1981 on its way from Newcastle to South Shields; on race morning the district below the estate is the closest place to stand on the Gateshead side. The building is easy to spot: a curved, full-height glass front under the Great Run sign, with rust-coloured cladding and a roof terrace. Offices only, not open to visitors.
