The name

Named for No. 60132 Marmion, a Peppercorn A1 built at Darlington in September 1948 and named in December 1950 after Sir Walter Scott's 1808 poem of Flodden. A Gateshead engine from new: allocated to 52A from October 1948 to May 1960, then Heaton and Tweedmouth, and back to Gateshead for its last six months. Withdrawn June 1965 and scrapped by Hughes Bolckow at North Blyth.
