Your building is run by residents
Every block at Ochre Yards has its own resident management company, numbered Ochre Yards One to Eleven, with a managing agent appointed by that company’s directors — who are residents. The agent sends the service-charge demand, arranges cleaning, lifts, insurance and the smoke-control systems, and is your first call for anything in the common parts. Your lease or your last service-charge demand names your company; the block pages list what we have recorded, with dated agent changes from Companies House.
Bins
Flats here use communal bin stores, and the arrangements are run through your block’s managing agent, not the council’s kerbside rota. The council’s bin collection day checker has no collection information for the estate’s addresses (checked block by block, September 2026), so ask your agent when your store is emptied and what goes in which bin. Bin store locations per block are being collected — tell us yours.
Parking
There is no council resident permit zone here; parking is allocated within each block’s own land, and visitor parking depends on the block. For a second car, the private High Level Bridge Car Park at the top of Half Moon Lane runs monthly subscriptions.
Deliveries
Give couriers the block name and the postal street (see the block page), but note that the three blocks on Greensfield Close front Fletcher Road and are mostly entered from Greensfield Close, through doors numbered by flat range — a driver following the postcode alone will end up on the wrong side. The block pages list which door serves which flats.
The nearest postbox is on High Level Road by the entrance to Riverside Park.
Getting about
Gateshead Interchange (Metro and buses) is about five minutes’ walk; Newcastle Central is ten to twelve minutes over the High Level Bridge on foot. See Getting in and out by car before you drive anywhere for the first time: every car in and out goes through one railway arch on High Level Road with 12 ft 3 in (3.7 m) headroom, and the other exit, Fletcher Road to Hudson Street, is lower at 11 ft 6 in (3.5 m). Anything taller than 12 ft 3 in cannot reach the estate at all. Tell your removal firm before you book.
Gym and pool
The nearest gym and pool is LivingWell inside the Hilton on Bottle Bank, in through the hotel’s main entrance off Curzon Place: a 15 m pool, sauna, steam room, gym floor and classes, open from 06:00 on weekdays and 08:00 at weekends. It is run separately from the hotel and takes local members; a day pass is available if you want to try it before joining. Three hours’ parking in the hotel car park is free for members.
Noise
The estate is bounded by the East Coast Main Line approach to the bridges and by the A167. The bridge works schedule lists planned overnight possessions and closures.
